ISO PLAN DO CHECK ACT

ISO Plan Do Check Act

ISO 9001 Certification has a process-oriented approach and uses the ISO Plan Do Check Act (PDCA) methodology.  It doesn’t tell you how to run your business or how your Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) should be, but verifies whether your business meets ISO 9001 standards. Plan-Do-Check-Act is a continuous cycle aimed to continually maintain and improve the many different processes occurring in your businesses’ day-to-day operations.

The PLAN phase involves determining the processes and objectives required to  achieve the desired results.

The DO phase involves putting the plan into action. It is when the processes and objectives in the plan are put into play. Data is collected from the implementation of the plan

The CHECK phase involves analyzing the actual results being achieved by the plan. This involves, monitoring, measuring, analyzing and evaluating these results to make sure they are meeting the results that are desired.

The ACT phase involves making changes and improvements to the original plan in order to achieve the results that were desired.
