ISO 9001 PRINCIPLES
There are eight quality management principles, established by the International Organization for Standardization known as the ISO 9001 Principles. ISO sets the standards and establishes the criteria for a Quality Management system. Over one million organizations worldwide are ISO 9001 certified, making it the world’s most recognized quality management system certification. It can be applied to any organization regardless of their size, type, product or service.
This system is built upon eight quality management principles: Customer focus, Continual improvement, Leadership, System approach to management, Factual approach to decision making, Process approach, Mutually beneficial supplier relationship and Involvement of people.
ISO 9001 Certification has a process-oriented approach and uses the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) methodology. It does not tell you how to run your business or what should be your Standard Operating Procedures are, but verifies whether your business meets ISO 9001
