Conformity with the ISO 9001:2005 requirements is now to be evidenced by “documented information”. ISO 9001 documented information is to be controlled and maintained. Proper documentation is an integral part of any quality management system. One of the major changes between ISO 9001:2015 and its previous version is that it removed the distinction between “documents” and “records”.
ISO 9001 MANDATORY DOCUMENTS
With the release of ISO 9001:2015, organizations are no longer required to have specific procedures. Now, in Version 2015 of ISO 9001, the organization is required to have certain documents. ISO 9001 Mandatory documents include:
- Scope of the Quality Management System
- Quality Policy
- Quality Objectives
- Requirements for evaluation and selection of suppliers
In addition to the mandatory documents mentioned above, there are a number of quality management system procedures that are commonly used but are not required to be documented by the ISO 9001:2015 standard. However, these procedures will be required to
generate the mandatory documents and it is the best way to implement the quality management system effectively.
It is required that organizations document their process appropriately. However, it is often a challenging task for most organizations. LMG assists organizations with properly identifying their process, procedures and properly documenting them to meet the requirements of ISO standard. (Cost of ISO 9001 Certification)
